Overview

What is Crushed Concrete?

Crushed concrete is made by breaking down old concrete from demolition and road projects, then screening it to size. Sizing varies by producer, and small pieces of brick or asphalt can appear.

It compacts well and is lighter than natural stone, so the same tonnage covers more area. That makes it a cost-effective base for driveways, parking areas and construction sites.

FAQ

Crushed Concrete questions

Quick answers to what customers ask most.

Is crushed concrete as strong as crushed stone?

For most driveway and base uses it performs well when compacted. Natural stone is more consistent in size and appearance.

How much area does a ton cover?

Because it is lighter, at 4″ deep one ton covers about 65 sq ft.

Is crushed concrete safe near gardens?

It can raise soil pH, so keep it away from acid-loving plants like azaleas and blueberries.
